Waynes sporting background comes from playing State level tennis as a junior, followed by a coaching career that saw him managing the Ken Rosewall Tennis Centre on the Gold Coast. His first foray into large scale event management saw him host an exhibition tennis event at the centre, with the Australian Davis Cup Squad. He later spent a year in Germany, playing some smaller satellite tournaments, as well as coaching and representing his Club in the German Tennis League.
His more recent corporate experience saw him with Flight Centre LTD for 11 years. After returning from Europe with the travel bug, Flight Centre seemed like a good option-and turned out to be a great choice! His 11 years were spent in management in both the retail and corporate sector.
He was a multi-award winning consultant, twice crowned the Number One Consultant Worldwide, plus won numerous National and Worldwide awards for Most Profitable Office, Most Productive Office and Most Improved Office. He also was a “Top 5” winner in the National Customer Service Excellence Awards in the corporate sector.
Wayne founded Sports Corp Elite in 2001 after having attended something like 70 conferences over a 15 year period. He felt there was a real niche for a better quality of team building event, with a broader range of outcomes than what was generally on offer. He recognised that management and delegates were quickly becoming bored with the “same old” type of team building event – and he was one of them!
Since it’s inception, Sports Corp Elite has grown from strength to strength, and really carved a position for itself in the events industry as a market leader. Wayne has enjoyed building a quality team around him that shares his vision of delivering a higher calibre of event, that has each client “raving” about their experience.
The cornerstone of their success has been through an understanding of delivering real customer service, that not only delivers great events and Guest Speakers, but makes the whole process enjoyable and “stress free” for the client.

You know how some people love the smaller bits and pieces, and have a great attention to detail? That’s Jo. A great support for the rest of the team, particularly with our corporate functions, Jo co-ordinates between the properties, suppliers and our events team to make sure all is in order and running smoothly on the day.
She is a vital link in the registration process through to the “meet and greet” for delegates where her extensive background in customer service shines through. Feedback from our clients also has it that they’d much rather see her smiling face (than the boys) when they arrive for their functions!
