A Vic-torious Team Building Event
This amazing team adventure is a fusion of group think, interactive challenges and a race against time – across, through and over the streets, CBD, and bustling shopping districts of Melbourne. The adventure includes multi-sensory puzzlers, physical challenges, problem solving tasks, building challenges and interactive game playing. By using the template of The Amazing Race in conjunction with team dynamic training, the adventure has all the excitement of the popular TV show along with strong team growth components.
Teams will start off with a tough brainteaser, to separate their departure times slightly. They will then head to a number of different challenges throughout the race format. Teams will need to solve cryptic clues and complete physical and mental challenges along the way to get them to their final destination. Race facilitators will be on hand to eradicate cheating teams (and believe you me they will be trying their hardest!) and control flow of teams through the various checkpoints.
The challenges are fun and challenging and will require teams to use their combined individual knowledge to overcome and successfully complete each checkpoint.
A typical Amazing Race Around Melbourne will go something like this...
Following a ten minute race brief, the race starts, and the teams make their way from the starting point in the vicinity of Melbourne’s CBD (This point can be changed to suit your requirements). Teams make their way to Crown Casino by way of fastest and most effective transport using only the resources in their teams’ race kit, where they must locate a race facilitator to receive their first clue. Within the race envelope, teams will find instructions, directions, and a $10 casino chip. Entering the gaming floor, teams must select the game they believe will give them the best chance of winning additional money for their race budget. Starting with the $10 chip, each team must place a bet on at least one of the games or machines in the casino in their attempt to win enough money that will enable them to use faster modes of transport throughout the race.
Leaving the casino, richer or poorer, the teams solve a mentally challenging clue in order to identify and locate to their next destination, Federation Square. Teams will be required to construct an egg carrying device using the only resource supplied to them… a bunch of drinking straws! The device must carry the egg safely thru to the finish line.
Once the device has been completed, teams are given a map and directions to Queen Victoria Markets, where they will search the rows of stalls for the next hidden clue.
Teams must then board a tram and locate an American Tourist on the famous St Kilda Pier. Once they have found the American Tourist, teams will be required to perform in front of the bemused tourists. Only when the whole team has performed to the crowd will they be given their next clue.
Teams will then be required to follow directions to the teams’ final destination is the famous ‘Young and Jackson Hotel’, opposite Flinders Street Station, the pit stop for the “Race Around Melbourne”. Once teams have arrived, they must locate the race facilitator at the bar and hand in their race pack, and all completed clues for checking.
The first team across the finish line with all correct and completed mental challenges and race pack will be awarded the first place winners trophy.
